At ACW, our goal is to spark a global movement that ends the captivity of elephants. We aim to transform cultural practices and tourism by replacing cruelty with compassion, and by championing sustainable alternatives. Through mobilizing public voices, funding innovative solutions, and raising awareness, we strive to free elephants from chains and restore their dignity.
 

Why This Campaign: ​

Elephants are icons of wisdom and strength. Yet many live in chains. They are taken from the wild, beaten and starved to break their spirit so that they can be exploited in the tourism industry and in temples. They are denied basic care and forced to give rides under the hot sun causing them immense suffering. In temples, they are tied with heavy chains, forced to participate in religious ceremonies surrounded by loud sounds and huge crowds, causing them stress.
